ON STRUGGLING

"I think that in order to struggle you have to be creative. In my life, creativity has been something that has sustained me; it awoke my spiritual struggle." - Assata Shakur : : : "On Struggling" is a collective zine project by people of color with the intent of sharing personal narratives of struggle with culture, identity, white supremacy, mental health in our communities, modes of self-care and more.

We’re excited to release our latest zine in support of Marissa Alexander, a woman of color in Jacksonville, FL who is facing serious prison time for defending herself against her abusive husband. All proceeds from the purchase of this zine will go towards Marissa’s defense fund. If you’re in the Chicago area, you can pick one up Saturday (TOMORROW!!) at How Much Longer? — A Dance Party Fundraiser for Marissa Alexander!
